MECHANICAL INSPECTION AND ALIGMENT

Alignment of rotating equipment is a critical task.

Rotating equipment working misaligned can shorten the useful life of components (Rings, Rollers, Girth Gear, Pinion), in addition to increasing fuel and energy consumption. Therefore, it is essential that this work be done with adequate planning.

Hot inspection prevents equipment downtime.

Hot inspection is a fundamental diagnostic job for scheduling maintenance on rotating equipment. Premature wear of components or falling refractories can be directly linked to misaligned equipment.

Whether it’s a Lime Kiln, Clinker Kiln, Cooler, Dryer, Mill, Log Debarker – or other equipment, a technical evaluation evaluates parameters with the equipment stopped and in operation.

Using specific devices, some parameters can be measured, such as:

– Contact between rings and rollers
– Contact between crown and pinion
– Flexion of the ferrule
– Radial and axial alignment

Short, medium and long term planning.

After the field work, the parameters are analyzed and a report is prepared. In a meeting, short, medium and long term actions are determined.

Main segments served: cement, cellulose, niobium, titanium, zinc, iron ore, coke.

PRODUCTS / SERVICES

3D Aligment

The axial alignment of the Kiln shaft needs to be within tolerances to minimize stress on the side and distribute support loads correctly between the Support Rollers.

Girth Gear Wobbling

Evaluates the operational conditions of the Crown, in order to avoid damage due to irregular movement in the axial and radial directions.

Inclination test

Measures the axle inclinations of slow rotating parts during operation.

Lead test

Analysis of the contact profile between the Tyre and Support Roller paths or Girth Gear and Pinion.

Perimeter Measurement

Evaluation of component wear for field machining or replacement.

Polar test

Evaluation of deformation and eccentricity of Shell along the equipment.

Relative Displacement

Measurement of Relative Displacement between Ring and Ferrule

Shaft Bending

On a Kiln Support Roller, the variation in the deflection of the shafts indicates possible crank of the Shell.

Shell test

Measures the changes of the roundness / curvature in the kiln shell during operation.

Thermal inspection

Non-destructive inspection technique that uses infrared thermography to assess the temperature distribution pattern in different parts of the equipment.
