GRINDING

Why performing grinding?

Grinding (on-site machining) is meticulous work that demands a high level of technical knowledge. But why should components be machined?

Movable surfaces in frequent contact, such as Rollers and Tires, must be lubricated to reduce friction – otherwise they will suffer high wear. However, inadequate lubrication or unwanted components to the process can accelerate this wear. Furthermore, problems with alignment of rotating equipment can directly lead to uneven contact between raceways, causing them to wear out – and forming concave and convex surfaces.

Operating limits may vary by equipment. A previous field inspection must be carried out to evaluate the operational and material parameters.

In addition, an engineering study based on the assembly design is required to understand whether On-site Machining should actually be carried out.

On-site Machining must be carried out with the equipment in operation, at low rotation.

Experience and technology.

NIMBAHERA has its own machining team and the equipment used was developed after three decades of experience in this activity. The Machining of Tires, Support Rollers and Thurst Rolers of Rotary Kilns for Lime, Clinker, Debarking Drums, Ball Mills, Dryers and Coolers can be carried out.
